Website Creator Info and Research Projects
Anna Chase created and maintains this website. She is currently a student in the M.Sc. of Environmental science program at the University of Idaho. Her thesis project will describe the relationship between mussel shell growth and variations in habitat.
Lower Boise River Mollusk Survey
Since 2016 Anna has been conducting regular genera level surveys of mollusk diversity in the Lower Boise River. This has shown the presence of the invasive New Zealand mudsnail and Asian basket clams.

More About Anna
|
Anna grew up on a dairy farm in Southern Idaho, before eventually graduating from the College of Idaho with a bachelors of science in biology in 2016. Since then she has worked for Idaho Fish and Game, travelled to Ecuador for research, and gone on various other adventures.
She values working on basic research and finding out more about organisms that are often overlooked. |
Anna enjoys spending time outdoors and hanging out with her cat. When she is not working on her thesis, she enjoys hiking, looking for mollusks in rivers, and playing computer games. She also claims she occasionally plays hockey and owns a large collection of graphic novels.
Anna's end of life goals is to own a cabin in the woods of Idaho, with a variety of animals to keep her company. Her stated backup plan is to be a "comic book hobo who lives under a bridge drawing comics" whatever that means.
